The Paire Bucket Hat

One-of-a-kind standard brim bucket hat made from two vintage velour hand towels - a Cannon Seven Seas and a Sears Stained Glass, multicoloured fringe, bubblegum pink towelling underbrim, and white cotton canvas lining.

This bucky is part of the COMMUNITY collection, celebrating the amazing people who've become essential to ColCol's journey. This hat exists because of two incredibly sweet and thoughtful women: Patty and Claire. Hence the name, 'The Paire'. Claire (@clairewhimp) has been my towel dealer for a few years and when she found an awesome towel that just wouldn't work for a hat, she decided to do a towel swap with the most amazing maker, Patty (@fourbirdsnest). Claire knows my towel wish list (yes, I have a towel wish list), and they conspired together to send me two of my all time favourite vintage towel patterns.

The parcel got lost in the mail for ages, and we'd given up hope. But one day it showed up out of the blue, ready to get transformed into this adorable patchy pōtae.

* To measure your head size: Use either a measuring tape of string and a ruler and measure where a hat would usually sit, just above your eyebrows, past the top of your ears, where they attach to your head and then to the back of your head. Size up if you're between sizes.
